Update from the Godalming Learning Partnership (GLP)

Moss Lane School is a member of the Godalming Learning Partnership, which has now been operating since 2018. Through this partnership, our school has been able to participate in and benefit from a number of initiatives including:

  • Maths training sessions for teachers and Learning Support Assistants
  • A bespoke two-year training programme from the highly acclaimed, national Talk for Writing programme, which has only been affordable through efficiencies of scale, with the cost spread across GLP schools
  • Professional development of Headteachers and Senior Managers through the Improvement through Peer Review programme
  • The Teacher Training programme “Get Teaching” has been another key priority for the partnership and we look forward to the third year of this programme starting in September. So far, 15 students have been trained through this programme, with students completing placements at Moss Lane School, with most graduates now teaching in GLP schools
  • The work of the GLP has also deepened relationships and the level of trust between members of staff in GLP schools – a foundation for enabling the sharing of good practice, which is benefitting children’s education
  • Lastly, by taking part in inter-school competitions, this has allowed children’s work to be celebrated more widely

Moss Lane School is a member of the Godalming Learning Partnership (GLP) which works together to ensure that all children in our area receive the highest quality education, whilst valuing each school’s autonomy and uniqueness.

For many years, schools in the Godalming area have enjoyed increasingly positive and fruitful working relationships.

We have shared expertise, training opportunities, events for children and many other opportunities to support learning in our community. We want this to continue in the face of many changes in education. For this reason, we have found a new way of working together. We have become the GLP. This will not change the individual nature of each school or its ethos but it will bind us together more closely to help us to continue to support one another and further develop learning and education for our communities.
